This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.
The intervention brought together waste collectors, Mombasa-based waste management companies, and Nairobi-based waste recycling firms, demonstrating the market opportunity and business case for investing in solid waste separation and recycling in Mombasa, Kenya.
