This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.
SDP has partnered with a number of provincial training centres to reshape their operations into high-performing vocational training schools with:
- strong links to government
- better inter-ministerial coordination
- integration with the local private sector
The training centres have changed their management approach as well as updated their curriculum and pedagogy to be more relevant and high quality. Overall, this change is being led and overseen by key government agencies who are stepping into their quality assurance roles.
