This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.

This intervention focuses on changes to design and production practices within the textile and apparel sector in Moldova and Armenia.

A new programme led by a fashion innovation platform brought together teams of designers and students from both large factories and universities to increase the number of value-added products with modern and innovative approaches, upgrading design, creativity, skills and knowledge.

As a result the programme was able to facilitate collaboration, support educational system development, establish local and regional networks and support the sector's shift towards more sustainable production.
