The project’s objective is to create green jobs in the Saloum Delta across all pillars of decent work including productive employment through climate action, enterprise development, social protection, rights at work and social dialogue, primarily for women and young women and men aged 15-24.

To so do, the project will focus on three main intervention areas: (i) strengthening the efficiency and competitiveness of selected mangrove-based value chains; (ii) strengthening the capacity of women and youth to establish formal cooperatives and microenterprises; and (iii) facilitating access to social protection as part of the process of formalisation.

The project manajer will also ensure the application of a market systems development (MSD) approach throughout the project cycle to the extent possible, as well as thorough MRM.
