For development practitioners, who are often more accustomed to doing things themselves rather than through actors within a market system, developing an offer and negotiating a partnership with private sector and government actors may not always be the most intuitive of processes.
These guidelines aim to unpack the process of building and managing successful partnerships so that we can understand the key principles, the core elements and the mechanics of how this is done.
They incorporate PRISMA'S experience, including around more strategic, systemic partnerships and women’s economic empowerment. They build on the knowledge of a number of large MSD programmes, as well as the practical experiences and perspectives of PRISMA's senior management, MSD advisers, and technical team. There is also a Useful Tools section to assist in partnership-building.
