Jenny (Cairns) Smart has been an analyst with IFPRI since 2016 and has over eight years of post-Masters research experience. Since joining IFPRI she has been engaged in areas such as:
Tracking and informing country-level policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic;
Assessing past trends, current challenges and future scenarios of Ethiopia’s agri-food system (resulting in a book released in 2020);
Performing an impact evaluation of the InovAgro market systems development project in northern Mozambique;
Examining returns to public expenditures in Nigeria; and
Managing the Statistics of Public Expenditures for Economic Development database.
