I am a freelance consultant with over 25 years of experience in supporting efforts to understand and address the governance challenges that contribute to persistent social problems, especially in the global south. I have a PhD in International Political Economy from the University of Cambridge, and have worked as an academic, a parliamentary researcher, a policy analyst, a civil servant, a campaigner, and a non-profit executive director. A common strand throughout my career has been sensitivity to the specificities of particular contexts and supporting frontline actors as they lead the way in addressing the challenges that they face. My aim is to contribute to strengthening the capacity of social systems and the organizations and people that bring them into being to address complex social challenges such as poverty, corruption, and the use of public resources.
