This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.
The intervention focused on certifying skills of existing workers in the wood and furniture sector through new occupational profiles developed by the government.
The profiles were subsequently used by employers to certify and hire skilled workers. Better transparency and standardisation of skills helps workers to communicate their experience/skills in the labour market.
