This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.
The intervention supported large input suppliers to set up private training centres that offer in-demand training on key topics.
As a result companies are investing in continuous training for employees which has contributed to improved sales. In addition, individuals can access training that supports access to wage work or self-employment.
Training is sustained through fees for the service.
