This is an intervention summary from the MSD for employment (MSD4E) landscape assessment which was undertaken by the MSD4E Community of Practice and funded by the ILO, Mercy Corps and Swisscontact. It is based on self-reported information from individual MSD programmes, reviewed and compiled in a common structure to enable learning across the field of MSD4E.
Changing the designation of carpentry as a hazardous occupation, which unlocks access to better national health insurance and faster access to better health clinics with additional coverage. This required influencing the Ministry of Health to change the designation.
