MSD programme success depends on team leadership. This webinar introduced a new competency framework that articulates the key behaviours of effective MSD Team Leaders.
The framework moves beyond the 'hero leader' myth. Rather than expecting leaders to arrive fully formed, it provides a practical tool for development, reflection and support.
Speakers shared how the framework is already being applied across different contexts and roles.
- Mike Klassen introduced the framework's four competency domains and the research behind them, explaining how it provides a common language for discussing what effective MSD leadership looks like.
- Shahroz Jalil offered a Team Leader's perspective on using the framework as a self-reflection tool for professional development.
- Tim Sparkman discussed how the Canopy Lab integrates the framework into executive coaching with MSD Team Leaders, using it as a conversation guide to identify priorities and track development.
