Struggling to attract investment in challenging markets can feel like pouring water into a leaky bucket.

This webinar drew on the Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) programme’s experience using a market systems approach to address those constraints across Ethiopia, Malawi, Nepal, Rwanda and Uganda to unlock investment for agri-SMEs and strengthen systems for the long term.

It looked at how CASA worked with agribusiness partners to develop context-specific business cases, engage investors and test financing models such as tripartite lending and venture capital.

The discussion reflected on what helped mobilise private investment while also strengthening the underlying market systems needed to sustain investment over time.
